Here’s a series of photographs showing the production of Page 20.

I begin with a line drawing (1), then fill it in with flat areas of charcoal, blended by hand (2&3), then draw outlines to increase definition and sharpness (4), and do a final detail pass (5). After that it goes to digital enhancement.
