Are any of you graphic designers? If so, you probably don’t like the font I use for lettering, and I don’t blame you. I’m no typographer, but I do have a passing interest in type. I’m a devotee of the Ban Comic Sans movement, a fan of Garamond, and I’ve met the director of the documentary Helvetica (I could have played foosball with him, but he didn’t want to play any more rounds). So I am aware of the limitations of the font I’ve been using.

This is all to say that I’m considering a move to a new typefact. The typeface I was using before is called Amusivity. It was my first attempt to create a font for comic lettering (before I’d used BlamBot’s Spectre Verde). However, I didn’t do a great job on it, and the fact that I’m still using this stilted font is starting to bother me. Thus I set about creating a new font, Ambrose Rinilchi, which you can see below.

One thing I’m toying with is the possibility of using lowercase text. From top-left clockwise: Amusivity, Ambrose Rinilchi medium, Ambrose Rinilchi light, Ambrose Rinilchi all-caps.

Any comments?
