The bearded guy reminds me of someone, but I cannot think whom. Blistering barnacles! I wish I could remember, but nice little homage if it is based on someone I know! And… thundering typhoons, are those Carreidas' glasses he's wearing?
Strangely enough he wasn't consciously based on Haddock, but I see the resemblance too now that you mention it. I seem to "osmose" a lot of Herge influence without even meaning to.
Incidentally, Tintin himself actually made a cameo earlier in this issue and as far as I know no one has spotted him yet. A challenge!
I noticed the H sculpture that Haddock bought in Alph-Art in the first panel of the last row of http://johnwallie.com/Sunrise/2012/01/16/10-23-ex... (when Raven is checking his watch). But as far as Tintin himself is concerned… well if I don't find him I'll sue my opticians.
