Issue 3 – Page 1 | Disturbing Trend

Welcome to Issue 3!  Herein are some things which I am very excited about:

  • New art style.  This is based loosely on Jeff Smith’s Bone series,  and also from a lot of research I’ve been doing into old American newspaper comics.  I want to emulate that 100% black-and-white look which was typical of comics of that era,  because I feel it will improve the “old-fashioned” feel of the comic.  So this page represents my initial foray into this vein (and hopefully the last drastic style change).  It’s not perfect yet,  but I expect this issue to be a learning experience.
  • Unpopular Trait Warning.  It turns out that Kindler is a sexist pig!  Are you surprised?  I feel the need to mention this because I’m always afraid that people will think the author = the characters.  People:  Just because Kindler is a rotter doesn’t mean I am.  This issue contains sexist characters but will not condone sexism in any way.  And I don’t empathize with Raven,  either,  before that assumption gets formed.
  • Scads of New Characters!  But I’ll let them introduce themselves as they appear.

So all kinds of exciting things are coming.  Stay tuned,  and I hope you enjoy Issue 3!

Awesome! We're off again on another Sunrise adventure. The new style looks interesting John. Good to see a sexist pig in the character lineup – a good antagonist for the period. Love the fountain.
